This website is partially compliant with Level AA of the “Web Content Accessibility Guidelines – WCAG 2.1” and the applicable European Standard EN 301 549 V3.2.1 (2021-03) pursuant to Directive (EU) 2016/2102 of the European Parliament and of the Council, due to the following incompatibilities.

Due to the historical development of this website, we assume that the content is not fully accessible.


The following content is not accessible for the reasons listed below:


a. Incompatibility with Accessibility Requirements

  • Some images and buttons do not have alternative text, or the alternative text does not provide an adequate description of the specific image.
  • Certain tables lack headers; in some cases, headings are missing or the heading structure is incorrect; lists are not formatted as such or are missing ARIA labels.
  • The requirements for sufficient contrast for text and non-text content according to WCAG Level AA are not consistently met across the website.
  • The structure and labeling of headings and form fields are continuously being revised to improve clarity and usability for all users.
  • The requirement for reflow at high magnification without loss of information or functionality is largely met; in general, content remains usable at high zoom levels.
  • Keyboard accessibility is generally available on the website. Most functions can be used without a mouse, although there are still some minor limitations with certain elements.
  • We plan to gradually fix issues that can be resolved editorially (e.g., missing alternative texts for images).
  • We also plan to gradually fix issues that can be resolved technically (e.g., limited operability).

b. Disproportionate Burden

  • The tab order and menu position are in part not correct.
  • Some of our videos are hosted and published either on this website or on the video platform YouTube. For some of these videos, it is not possible to provide the required audio descriptions.

c. Content Not Covered by Applicable Legislation

  • Historical documents (e.g., older image and PDF documents) are not or only partially accessible to screen reader users and are only insufficiently scalable.

This statement was prepared on June 12, 2025. The statement is based on an assessment carried out by Waldhart Software GmbH.

Enforcement Procedure

If you do not receive a satisfactory response from the contact option mentioned above, you may submit a complaint to the Complaints Office of the Austrian Research Promotion Agency (FFG). The FFG accepts complaints electronically via the Complaints Office contact form.
The FFG reviews whether the complaint concerns violations of the Web Accessibility Act, particularly shortcomings in meeting accessibility requirements, by the federal government or an affiliated institution.
If the complaint is justified, the FFG issues recommendations and proposes measures to the federal government or the relevant legal entities to remedy the deficiencies.
